Sharpening:

"Sharpening is the process of creating or refining a sharp edge of appropriate shape on a tool or implement designed for cutting. Sharpening is done by grinding away material on the implement with an abrasive substance harder than the material of the implement, followed sometimes by processes to polish the sharp surface to increase smoothness and to correct small mechanical deformations without regrinding."

Your knives will be sharpened by hand on Japanese natural and synthetic stones choosen for need of your knife. I will spend necessary time to achieve best cutting edge possible on your knife. It can be either 10 minutes or 3 hours. This is my hobby so I will not rush and I'll do my best. Do not send your precious knives to somebody who will use machine or belt grinder to sharpen your blade. Japanese sharpeners are using same technique since hundreds of years.

Handle Replacement:

One of my favourite hobbies is making traditional Japanese knives handles. I am going to use materials chosen by you. Traditional handles are made from Ho wood (magnolia) and water buffalo horn ferrule. I love handles made out of exotic woods. Only your imagination can stop you. If you don't know what to choose then contact me, we're gonna choose something together. Making a handle is time absorbing because I have to do it between my full time work and other activities. Please check my gallery to see handles I have finished
.

Saya (Scabbard):

I can make new saya (japanese sheath) for your blade. Saya is a great looking traditional cover. The best way of doing it is to send me your knife and I will make scabbard which will exactly fit to your knife. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me.
