Wabocho

About me:

My name is Greg. I was born in Poland in 1985.
I came to the United Kingdom in 2005 and I have been looking for different things to do ever since then.. I have been cooking as far as I can remember.. Earlier though I had no clue about knives. They were just simple tools for me what are being used by the whole world to cut ingredients.  Some times later I had a thought of buying a decent knife. I still remember that day. It was a love at first sight and has started an ever-growing avalanche of passion and admiration for hand-made Japanese blades. The craftmanship is simply astonishing.  I have been learning and practicing ever since then to hone my skills. Made some friends on internet forums and bought a fair amount of knives and sharpening stones. Few years later I have reached the level when I was confident enough to offer my services to the public and that has led to the birth of "WaBocho".

About Wabocho:

I have created ''Wabocho'' only for one purpose - to have bigger contact with knives and to refine my sharpening and polishing skills. Now, after few years, my skills are better than before and I am very eager to confront new challenges. I feel that I am better with every project. I am offering knife sharpening and repair service, as well as handle replacement. I can also make new saya - wooden scabbard. If you would like to know more about me, do not hesitate to contact me. I am always honest and if there is something I cannot do with your knife, then I assure you that I will let you know.

I have created Wabocho, because I love knives and I really enjoy sharpening, repairing and polishing them. It is my big passion and hobby. However, lately it became something else. I didn’t expect the high volume of orders from around the globe. Now, instead of giving me a pleasure it is stressing me a lot. I don’t even have time for myself. I do not have workshop and I am doing everything at home, what means that I have to set up my workstation in my kitchen and then clean the entire house before I go to work. This is very stressful and my passion is fading away. Working in stress and rushing out the orders are neither good for me nor the customers. That is why I will slow down and take a pleasure of working with knives again. To do that I will have to take one order at a time without any specific timeframe. That means I won’t be able to tell you upfront when the job will be done. I might be able to finish it within a week or it may even take 4 weeks. I think it is better for the quality of my products and better for my wellbeing as well. I am very sorry for any inconvenience but I hope you will understand me.
